Dos And Don'ts To Make Your Chiropractor Happy · Do Not Ask Your Chiropractor To Medically Diagnose Your Symptoms.
Chiropractors are not diagnosticians in the
medical sense. They are not interested in putting names on symptoms. In chiropractic there is little need for a laboratory diagnosis, whether by chemical analysis, microscopic examination or bacteriological study. These things reveal symptomatic problems. They do not answer the vital question of "why". Doctors of Chiropractic are primarily concerned with cause rather than symptoms.
We ask you not to ask us for medical advice
because we are not medical specialists. · Dress Properly For Your Adjustments We like to be as specific as possible and prefer not to adjust through clothing. Women patients are furnished freshly laundered gowns on each visit and men are asked to remove their shirts. You are also asked to leave your shoes on during your adjustment. Our leg balance tests are performed much easier when the patient has their shoes on. · Please Do Not Ask To Bring A Friend In The Adjusting Room We strongly feel that the time you spend in the adjusting room belongs totally to you as a patient. Patients do not tend to relax as well with other people in the room and it is difficult for your doctor to focus his total attention to you while conversing with someone else. Possible exceptions to this would be if you sincerely wish your spouse present or if you would like for your children to see the pleasant and gentle manner of chiropractic care. If you have a friend with you whom you would like to know more about chiropractic care, simply ask our receptionist or chiropractic assistant to show them one of our many video- tapes. · Please Do Not Allow Your Children To Play With Equipment Our adjusting tables are hydraulic and pneumatic and could cause injury to your child if wrong buttons are pushed or if hoses are broken. · Do Sign In On Each Visit Please register at the window before each visit and check your doctor preference or first available if you have no preference. · Do Inform Us Of Any Changes If there has been a change in your personal life such as a new address, phone number, occupation, marital status etc., inform the receptionist at the window. If there has been a change in your health condition, or something that affects your present health such as falls, accidents or injuries of any nature, we ask that you inform us immediately. A special "OUCH" pad is available in the reception room, which is a quick easy way, for you to write these changes down. If you prefer, one of our CA's will be happy to take down this information for you. · Do Make Any Suggestions That Will Help Us Serve You Better If our reception room is too cool or too warm, inform the receptionist. If our tables are not comfortable to you or if you have trouble getting an appointment, inform the doctor. We sincerely want Spine Care to be the number one health care provider for you and your family. |
