History

The History of Chiropractic is so colorful that it reads like fiction yet it is true.  In the early days of this new and controversial profession it was attacked viciously by organized medicine and the pharmaceutical industry.  It was fought perhaps harder than any other profession in the history of the world.  No, chiropractors were not thrown to the lions, as were the early Christians.  Many however were falsely accused of practicing medicine without a license.  In some states they were actually put in jail for this as late as the 1950s.

These unjust jail sentences helped the early pioneers in our profession to prove that Chiropractic was not medicine.  It was entirely different.  It had a philosophy and practice different from any other profession.     It was separate and distinct and needed to be licensed as such.

Chiropractic was licensed in Georgia in 1922.  It is now licensed in every state in the union and most foreign countries.

Just as it has been the most fought profession, it has been the fastest growing healing art in the history of the world.

In this mere 106 years, Chiropractic has grown from one chiropractor and one patient to the world's second largest healing art.  It is the world's largest drugless healing profession.

This unprecedented growth has been largely because Chiropractic was such a wonderful discovery.  It is based on a truth that works so well.

It is also due to all the pioneers in the profession who faced the thorns of a new frontier to bring Chiropractic to the world, the many chiropractors and chiropractic assistants who now faithfully serve the profession, the families of chiropractors who have sacrificed so much and to the now millions of Chiropractic patients who collectively make the world a better place to live.
